  • Some inspiration from our jolly in the South of France. Gorgeous scenery, odd French knobbly trees, lovely autumnal colours, and a lot of fields. It rained for most of the time, but I’m glad i caught a few nice images. Feeling rejuvinated!

  • Another new drawing. It’s so hard not to go off on a tangent with new ideas! I love watercolour effect contrasting against crisp white edges. Thinking paper cuts on watercolour painting for some 2d work, incorporating the little stamp houses. Ooh I feel all Christmassy!

  • I’m in southern France this week, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, soaking up inspiration from the beautiful landscape. (I’ll post some pics when I get back!) With my brain doing creative overtime I’ve been doing some sketches for the next collection of pieces I’m working on, the dark spaces series. Think dark (of course), magical, slightly mysterious.. Oh, and glitter! Any excuse… ;-)

  • So this is the start of the little stamp house blog. I did a lot of umming and ahhhing about starting a blog.. What if I didn’t keep up with it? What it nobody looks at it? What if it’s boring? So I have promised myself to post at least once every few weeks with updates on influences, new work, what I’m up to, cool stuff and maybe a few unrelated posts. (you have permission to message me and slap my wrists if I don’t keep my word.)

After a lot of frustration and hardwork in getting the Little stamp house website up and running, it’s finally finished. (Insert big sigh of relief! My husband Matt was getting pretty fed up of me being glued to it every night for the last few weeks.) It showcases my carefully made miniature theatrical landscape artboxes, featuring tiny homes constructed from antique and vintage postage stamps. Encased in 3mm thick perspex cases and framed in solid oak, the artboxes can be created as either wall-mounted or freestanding pieces.

The first collection is the green spaces series, and I’m working on designs for a few more collections. Keeping it hush at the moment but I’ll tell you all about them soon! I also have a range of cards that will be available through the website in the near future.

I have an endless list of jobs to get done to market my work.. at this rate I’ll be spending only half of my time being creative, but it has to be done! And I secretly enjoy it. Right, next job.. Twitter here I come!
